Galileo's Planet Pack
The first planet mod, as far as I know, to replace the entire stock solar system, use a realistic art style-- depart from stockalike planet style, its textures made from scratch unlike, for example Real Solar System, be Mathematically accurate as much as possible, and provide compatibility with, and feature accents for, a vast array of other mods. I cannot make planets myself but I can contribute many things to a planet mod, and I learned just about all of it in the course of a year, helping to build this one.

Galileo's Planet Pack belongs to Galileo88 on GitHub, and it made initial full release after only four months of development. This mod makes KSP new again to long-time players who have absolutely exhausted the novelty value of the stock solar system.
